Strengthening Legal Awareness, Undiknas Holds National Seminar on Intellectual Property Protection
Denpasar – In today’s rapidly evolving digital era, various forms of intellectual works and innovations are more easily published and accessed by the public. However, this convenience also presents new challenges in the protection of copyrights and intellectual property. Numerous cases of infringement have emerged, ranging from digital piracy, unauthorized content use, to the counterfeiting of technology-based products. As such, understanding the importance of legal protection for intellectual property has become increasingly crucial, especially for the younger generation actively creating and utilizing digital products.
Recognizing this urgency, Universitas Pendidikan Nasional (Undiknas) held a National Seminar titled “Implementation of Legal Protection for Intellectual Property in the Digital Era” as a platform for discussion and education, aiming to help students understand their rights, responsibilities, and the applicable regulations within today’s dynamic digital ecosystem.
Held on Friday, May 9, 2025, at the Dwi Tunggal Auditorium of Undiknas, the seminar featured prominent legal experts: Prof. Dr. Annalisa Y., S.H., M.Hum., a professor from Universitas Sriwijaya, and Dr. Komang Satria Wibawa Putra, S.H., M.H., a lecturer from Undiknas. The seminar was moderated by Muhammad Syahnakri, S.H., M.H., who is also a lecturer at Undiknas.
Through this seminar, students were invited to delve deeper into the importance of legal protection for intellectual property (IP) amidst the progress of digital technology. The speakers presented insightful materials that broadened participants’ understanding of the challenges and solutions in safeguarding intellectual rights, including copyrights, patents, and trademarks in the digital age.
In addition to presentations, seminar participants were given the opportunity to engage in direct discussions with the experts, analyze case studies, and explore various legal perspectives relevant to current developments. This event aimed to cultivate legal awareness among students and strengthen their readiness to face the challenges of the professional world.
With the successful organization of this national seminar, Undiknas once again affirms its role as a higher education institution that is responsive to current issues and actively fosters academic spaces that support the development of students’ knowledge and skills.
