Bali – Universitas Pendidikan Nasional (Undiknas), together with Long Island University (LIU) Global, successfully held the Collaborative Workshop 2025, a nine-day event in Ubud, Bali. Under the theme “The Role of Youth in Addressing Global Socio-economic Issues,” the workshop aimed to train and empower young people to find concrete solutions to various global social and economic challenges such as poverty, plastic waste, gender equality, sexual violence, sustainable agriculture, and environmental pollution.
The workshop took place from Sunday, April 13 to Monday, April 21, 2025, with activities centered at the Bali Institute Office. Participants—comprising students from LIU Global and Undiknas—attended entrepreneurship classes, conducted field visits to NGOs, and engaged in intensive discussions with social activists and social entrepreneurs in Bali.
In the early days, participants were welcomed with opening entrepreneurship classes, followed by visits to various organizations such as Kopernik, Magi Farm, and PKP Community Centre, which showcased how social innovation works on the ground. A major highlight was the visit to Astungkara Way, a regenerative agriculture initiative, as well as a discussion session at Taman65 that raised awareness about local history and social issues.
The workshop also included recreational yet educational activities such as futsal night, a city tour of Denpasar, and group exploration walks, which strengthened camaraderie and cross-cultural understanding among participants.
The workshop concluded on Monday, April 21, 2025, with final entrepreneurship classes and presentations of the participants’ final projects. During this session, students presented their creative ideas and solutions to the social issues they had studied throughout the workshop. These presentations demonstrated the great potential of youth to create real impact in global communities.
The event ended with a dinner and evening activities as a celebration of the workshop’s success and to reinforce the collaborative relationship between Undiknas and LIU Global.
This activity was not only a learning space but also a tangible form of international collaboration that promotes the development of youth capacity to think critically, collaborate across cultures, and create innovative solutions for a more sustainable world.
Through this collaboration, Undiknas further strengthens its commitment to nurturing an adaptive intellectual generation ready to face global challenges.
