Undiknas Public Administration Students Participate in Workshop at Bali Provincial DPRD Building
Denpasar – On Friday, August 30, 2024, students from the Public Administration Study Program at Universitas Pendidikan Nasional (Undiknas) had the opportunity to participate in a workshop held at the Bali Provincial DPRD (Regional People’s Representative Council) Building. The workshop focused on the topic of “Policy Brief” and aimed to provide students with an understanding of the concept and effective drafting of public policy documents.
The event began with remarks from a representative of the Bali Provincial DPRD, who emphasized the importance of students understanding the policy-making process as a foundation for their future careers. During the workshop, participants engaged in discussions about the role of the policy brief as a tool used to convey policy recommendations concisely and clearly to decision-makers.
The workshop speakers included Undiknas lecturers and experienced public policy practitioners. They explained how a policy brief should be prepared by considering comprehensive analysis and accurate data, while remaining easy to understand for the relevant stakeholders. Students were also trained to identify problems, offer evidence-based solutions, and craft actionable recommendations.
Through this event, Undiknas Public Administration students are expected not only to gain theoretical knowledge about public policy but also to apply these skills in drafting relevant policy briefs across various sectors. Additionally, the workshop provided an opportunity to enhance their analytical skills and deepen their understanding of the legislative process within government institutions.
This workshop is part of the academic development program for Public Administration students at Undiknas, aimed at preparing them to become competent graduates in the field of public policy and government administration.
