Undiknas Students Win First Place at Badung Festival of Innovation 2023

Badung, October 25, 2023 – The Badung Festival of Innovation (BFI) 2023 was a proud moment for Universitas Pendidikan Nasional (Undiknas) as their student team clinched first place in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) innovation category. Led by Andhika Bintar Lorenzo Kristian Reinnamah, with team members I Gusti Nathan Agung Tanaka and Muhammad Zafran Zulkifli, the team presented their innovative project titled “UDAWA Gadadar,” which earned them the top spot in the competition.

The event, held at the “Mangupraja Mandala” complex on July 12-13, 2023, served as a platform for creative solutions aimed at accelerating post-pandemic recovery, with a special focus on sustainable environmental practices. The Undiknas team impressed the judges with their innovative solution designed to optimize agricultural processes using smart technology.

Named UDAWA Gadadar, this development extends the UDAWA (Universal Digital Agriculture Watering Assistant) platform, automating agricultural operations such as irrigation and fertilization. The system allows farmers to control various agricultural instruments via a smartphone app, making farming more efficient and energy-saving. By integrating data on energy consumption and environmental conditions, this innovation also contributes to sustainable agriculture.

The victory of the Undiknas team further solidifies the university’s reputation as a leading center for research and technology. The official award ceremony took place at the Mangupura Award event on October 25, 2023. This outstanding achievement was made possible with the guidance of their lecturer, Ir. I Wayan Aditya Suranata, S.Kom., M.Kom., who played a crucial role in the development of the project.
