Public Lecture: The Role of the Constitutional Court in the State System Strengthens Undiknas Students’ Understanding of Law
Denpasar – Universitas Pendidikan Nasional (Undiknas) once again presented a high-quality academic event through a public lecture titled “The Constitutional Court in the State System,” held on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at the Dwi Tunggal Auditorium, Undiknas.
The event featured two distinguished speakers, Prof. Dr. Guntur Hamzah, S.H., M.M. and Dr. Ridwan Mansyur, S.H., M.M., who delivered in-depth discussions on the functions, authorities, and strategic position of the Constitutional Court (MK) in upholding the constitution in Indonesia.
In their lecture, the speakers emphasized the vital role of the Constitutional Court as the guardian of the constitution, ensuring that every policy and law remains aligned with the fundamental values of the 1945 Constitution (UUD 1945). They also highlighted how the Court maintains a balance among state institutions and delivers constitutional justice to the people. Furthermore, they discussed the dynamics of constitutional law practices in Indonesia and the challenges faced by the Court amidst the evolution of modern democracy.
The lecture was attended by hundreds of students from Universitas Pendidikan Nasional, particularly from the Faculty of Law, along with faculty members and other academic staff. For law students, understanding the role of the constitution is crucial—not only from a theoretical standpoint but also in the practical context of a dynamic state administration. Through this event, students were expected to broaden their knowledge of constitutional law and the pivotal role of the Constitutional Court in safeguarding the principles of a state governed by law.
This public lecture also serves as a tangible expression of Undiknas’ commitment to providing applied and relevant learning experiences that address current national issues while bringing legal practitioners and academics directly into the academic environment as sources of knowledge and inspiration for students.
