Undiknas Hosts Provincial Briefing on Accelerating Waste Management in Bali
Denpasar — Universitas Pendidikan Nasional (Undiknas) once again demonstrated its commitment to supporting the sustainable development agenda by hosting the event titled “Capacity Building for Accelerating Waste Management in Bali Province” on Thursday, January 15, 2026, held in the Antonio Gramsci Room, 3rd Floor, Building A, Undiknas.
The activity was organized by the Ministry of Environment / Environmental Control Agency of the Republic of Indonesia through the Bali and Nusa Tenggara Environmental Control Center, as part of efforts to strengthen the role of young people in supporting environmental management policies, particularly the acceleration of waste management in Bali Province.
The session featured Fatirahma Mustafa, S.Hut., M.URP., Head of the Subdivision for Facilitation of Integrated Planning for Development Control of Ecoregions at the Bali and Nusa Tenggara Environmental Control Center, as the keynote speaker. Participants gained insights into the challenges of waste management, strategies for integrating environmental planning, and the importance of collaborative roles between government, educational institutions, and the community.
The event was attended by representatives of the Undiknas Student Representative Council (DPM) as well as the Undiknas Student Activity Support (SATU) Team, both of whom are actively involved in student initiatives and sustainability-based social programs. The students’ participation in this forum forms an important part of contextual learning, fostering greater environmental awareness and social responsibility.
Undiknas’ involvement in this activity aligns with the spirit of the Impactful Campus Program initiated by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek), which encourages universities not only to excel academically but also to contribute tangible solutions to societal challenges. Through active student engagement and collaboration with government institutions, Undiknas continues to strengthen its position as an adaptive, relevant, and impactful university.
This briefing is expected to serve as a catalyst for further collaborative initiatives between the Undiknas academic community and various stakeholders, particularly on strategic issues such as environmental protection and sustainable development.
