Undiknas in the Celebration of Indonesia’s 80th Independence Day: United in Building a Sovereign and Advanced Nation
Denpasar, August 17, 2025 – Universitas Pendidikan Nasional (Undiknas) proudly commemorated the 80th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia with both solemnity and joy. Carrying the national theme “Unity, Sovereignty, Prosperous People, and Advanced Indonesia”, the celebration took place on Saturday, August 17, 2025, at the Undiknas University Field, attended by the entire academic community.
The flag-raising ceremony was led by the Rector of Undiknas, Prof. Dr. Ir. Nyoman Sri Subawa, S.T., S.Sos., M.M., IPM., ASEAN Eng., who encouraged all participants to use this moment of independence as a reminder of the importance of unity, hard work, and real contributions toward the progress of the nation. The ceremony was filled with a strong spirit of nationalism, fostering a deeper sense of patriotism within the campus community.
The program continued with various traditional competitions, including sack races, nail-in-the-bottle contests, cheers and chants competitions, poetry recitals, and a balloon race for pairs. Lecturers, staff, and students participated enthusiastically, creating an atmosphere of togetherness, warmth, and joy.
Through this vibrant celebration of Indonesia’s 80th Independence Day, Undiknas reaffirmed its commitment to cultivating the values of unity, togetherness, and the spirit of the nation’s heroes as inspiration in creating and contributing to society. With this spirit of unity, Undiknas believes that the vision of a Sovereign Indonesia, Prosperous People, and an Advanced Nation can be achieved collectively.
Aligned with the global commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), this activity also reflects Undiknas’ support for SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). Through the spirit of collaboration and solidarity, Undiknas strives to nurture a generation that is not only academically excellent but also prepared to contribute to building a peaceful, inclusive, and sustainable society.
