SATU TEAM UNDIKNAS Holds Outreach Program on “Synergy for a Stunting-Free Generation” in Akah Village, Klungkung
Klungkung – SATU TEAM (Student Activity Support Team) from Universitas Pendidikan Nasional (Undiknas) has successfully carried out the second edition of its social work program titled “Social and Economic with SATU TEAM #2.” The event, held at Banjar Pekandelan, Akah Village, Klungkung, was themed “Synergy for a Stunting-Free Generation” and aimed to educate and raise awareness about the importance of early prevention of stunting.
The motivation behind this initiative stemmed from the high prevalence of stunting cases in Bali. Through collaboration among students, healthcare institutions, and the community, SATU TEAM hopes to contribute to fostering a healthy, stunting-free generation.
Expert Talks on Stunting Prevention
The program featured two speakers who addressed stunting issues from two key perspectives:
- Parental Mental Health and Parenting Practices
The first speaker emphasized the importance of parental mental health in shaping effective parenting practices and ensuring balanced nutrition for children. They highlighted the critical role of proper parenting in supporting children’s optimal growth. - General Stunting Prevention
The second speaker discussed early stunting prevention strategies, focusing on the importance of balanced nutrition for teenagers, soon-to-be-married couples, pregnant women, and children during the first 1,000 days of life.
Community Involvement
The event actively engaged various elements of Akah Village’s community, including children identified with stunting, members of women’s organizations (PKK), healthcare volunteers, and village youth. Participants showed high enthusiasm, actively engaging in discussions and Q&A sessions with the speakers.
Practical Education and Awareness
In addition to providing education, SATU TEAM shared practical knowledge on how the community can contribute to stunting prevention through healthy lifestyles, family nutrition management, and raising awareness about the vital role of parents in child development.
“We hope this activity serves as a stepping stone to reducing stunting rates in Klungkung, especially in Akah Village. Collaboration among students, the community, and relevant institutions is key to creating a healthy, high-quality, stunting-free generation,” said a SATU TEAM representative.
Symbolic Support and Commitment
The event concluded with a symbolic handover of support from SATU TEAM to representatives of Akah Village as a testament to Undiknas’ commitment to promoting public health development.
Through the “Social and Economic with SATU TEAM #2” program, Universitas Pendidikan Nasional has demonstrated its active role in addressing social issues through inclusive and educational approaches. This initiative is expected to have a long-term positive impact on improving the quality of life in the community and supporting the creation of a stunting-free generation in Bali.
