Universitas Pendidikan Nasional Achieves Milestone in Digital Tourism Innovation with AR Technology
Denpasar, November 18, 2024 — Universitas Pendidikan Nasional (Undiknas) once again demonstrates its commitment to innovation in higher education, this time through the Faculty of Tourism’s groundbreaking work in the field of tourism. In a collaborative effort between students and faculty, a tourism education model utilizing Augmented Reality (AR) technology has been successfully developed. The project, titled “Digital Conservation of Lembuh Putih: Development of an AR-Based Edu-Tourism Model,” highlights the university’s dedication to combining education and technological advancement.
This model leverages AR technology to introduce an immersive virtual tourism concept. It allows users to explore the natural beauty and cultural heritage of Lembuh Putih virtually. This approach not only provides a rich and engaging tourism experience but also supports environmental conservation and cultural preservation. Visitors can learn about the region’s natural wonders and traditions from the comfort of their homes, making it an eco-friendly solution for modern tourism.
The primary objective of this development is to enhance public awareness of tourism potential while introducing educational methods that use advanced digital technology. Additionally, the model aims to inspire young generations to engage in creating sustainable and eco-conscious tourism industries.
With “Konservasi Digital Lembuh Putih” officially registered as intellectual property, Undiknas’ Faculty of Tourism has proven that academic innovation can make a tangible impact. This initiative is expected to be a pivotal step in advancing digital tourism and promoting global efforts toward environmental conservation and cultural preservation.
