GenBI UNDIKNAS Hosts “GENTAR: GenBI Lestari” to Promote Environmental Sustainability
Denpasar – Universitas Pendidikan Nasional (Undiknas), through Generasi Baru Indonesia (GenBI), has once again organized the “GENTAR: GenBI Lestari” event, a major initiative aimed at making a positive impact on the environment. The event took place on Sunday, July 21, 2024, at Wana Segara Kertih, Kedonganan, under the theme “Protecting the Earth Together with GenBI.”
The “GENTAR” program, initiated by the Environmental Division of GenBI Undiknas, is designed to foster a sense of responsibility and commitment to the environment among its members. The event was attended by all members of GenBI Undiknas and included a series of activities such as mangrove tree planting, QRIS socialization, and consumer protection advocacy.
One of the highlights of the event was the mangrove tree planting activity, aimed at contributing to the preservation of coastal ecosystems and addressing climate change. The program also featured a socialization session on QRIS (Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard) to enhance the security of digital transactions and consumer protection. This aspect of the event aligns with broader goals of promoting sustainability and digital literacy within the community.
In addition to Undiknas GenBI members, the event was also supported by Sobat GenBI Bali from SMK Dwijendra, Denpasar, who actively participated in the environmental initiatives.
This initiative is a tangible reflection of GenBI Undiknas’s commitment to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 13 on climate action and Goal 15 on life on land. By engaging in activities that promote environmental sustainability and community awareness, GenBI Undiknas contributes to the global effort to create a more sustainable and resilient world.
Through events like “GENTAR: GenBI Lestari,” Undiknas continues to set an example in promoting environmental care among its students and the wider community. The university remains dedicated to nurturing a generation of young people who are not only academically proficient but also actively involved in efforts to protect and preserve the environment for future generations.
