Denpasar, 17 April 2024 – Universitas Pendidikan Nasional (Undiknas) celebrated important achievements through the formation of a Reciprocity Agreement and held a Public Lecture featuring the Australian Consulate General in Bali. The agenda for signing the agreement was initiated by the Chancellor of Undiknas University, Prof. Dr. Ir. Nyoman Sri Subawa, S.T., S.Sos., M.M., IPM., ASEAN. Eng., and Ms. Jo Stevens as the new Australian Consul General in Bali, West Nusa Tenggara and East Nusa Tenggara. This series of activities took place at the Undiknas Library, especially in the #AussieBangetCorner section.
After signing the Reciprocity Agreement, the session continued with the Public Lecture agenda exclusively for International Undergraduate Program students at the Dwi Tunggal Undiknas Auditorium. Ms. Jo Stevens, as the first speaker, delivered an inspiring presentation about the historical context and potential of strategic cooperation between Australia and Indonesia. Apart from that, he also provides insight into various interesting aspects including culture, environment, innovation, excellence, and everyday life in Australia.
After Ms. Jo Stevens, the next segment is led by Ms. Amelia Ekkel, who was the second speaker. He provided valuable insight into the Australia Awards Scholarships, which offer great opportunities for students pursuing master’s and doctoral degrees in Australia. Additionally, Ms. Ekkel discusses the importance of studying in Australia and shares strategies for successfully obtaining an Australia Awards scholarship. After the presentation, participants were involved in a question-and-answer session with the speaker moderated by the MC. The event closed with a student session in a quiz activity guided by Ms. Amelia Ekkel.
The agreement formed through the Reciprocity Agreement is expected to strengthen bilateral relations between Undiknas and the Australian Consulate General. Apart from that, the Public Lecture activities are also expected to broaden students’ horizons and understanding of life in Australia and inspire every student to pursue further studies on Australian campuses.
