Inauguration of the Rector of the Universitas Pendidikan Nasional for the Period 2024 – 2029: The Leadership Stick Continues

Denpasar, March 15, 2024, a historic moment took place at the Dwi Tunggal Auditorium of the Universitas Pendidikan Nasional (Undiknas), the agenda for the inauguration of the Rector of the Universitas Pendidikan Nasional for the second period 2024-2029 took place with a lively atmosphere throughout the Undiknas academic community. The event was attended by all levels of University officials, the Founders, and the academic community of the Universitas Pendidikan Nasional including guests from various institutions in the Bali region.

The Rector’s Inauguration agenda included the reading of the Rector’s Inauguration Decree, which was followed by the taking of the oath and the inauguration procession of the new Rector by the Chairman of the Denpasar Perdiknas Foundation, Dr. A A. Ngurah Eddy Supriyadinata Gorda, S.Sos., M.M., and also handed over the baton and sash to the newly appointed Rector.

In his speech, Prof. Dr. Ir. Nyoman Sri Subawa S.T., S.Sos., M.M., IPM., ASEAN Eng, who is currently serving as Rector for the second period, expressed his gratitude for the trust that has been given to him. Professor Sri Subawa expressed his appreciation to the founders of the university for the mandate given, as well as to the Chair of the Senate and members of the Senate who have led the inauguration process carefully.

The procession of handing over the command baton is an important symbol in this event. Processor Sri Subawa explained that the meaning of handing over the baton symbolizes the handing over of tasks, roles, coordination, and responsibilities in developing the Universitas Pendidikan Nasional. The existence of one command stick indicates that every policy taken will go through one command, after going through a coordination process by established operational standards.

As Rector, Professor Sri Subawa also emphasized that all strategic steps taken by the National University of Education must be in line with the vision and mission that have been set, to realize the big dreams of the institution by the milestones that have been set.

During his term of office, both the first and the second, Professor Sri Subawa always reminded that all actions taken were for the benefit of the Universitas Pendidikan Nasional. He expressed his gratitude to all parties who had contributed according to their respective fields, as well as to “Ida Sang Hyang Widhi Wasa” for his abundant gifts.

Greetings from the Chairman of Perdiknas Denpasar and Chairman of LLDIKTI Region VIII, Dr. Ir. I Gusti Lanang Bagus Eratodi, ST., MT., was the closing character who described togetherness and enthusiasm in advancing the world of education.

Through this inauguration, the Universitas Pendidikan Nasional enters a new period with enthusiasm and commitment to continue to improve the quality of education at the Universitas Pendidikan Nasional and make positive contributions to society and the nation.
