Universitas Pendidikan Nasional: Inspiring Through the Virtuous Film “Nobar”.

Denpasar, 2 December 2023 — Universitas Pendidikan Nasional (Undiknas) held a special event by holding a group viewing (no bar) of the film entitled “Budi Pekerti” at Plaza Renon, Denpasar. This event was attended by lecturers and the Undiknas academic community who were interested in exploring the noble values contained in the film.

This bar event is not just entertainment but is also the university’s effort to carry out its mission of character education. “Good Character” was chosen because this film not only provides interesting visual entertainment but also conveys moral messages and good character that are relevant to be honed in society.

This film depicts the struggle of Bu Prani, a Guidance Counseling teacher, who finds herself caught in a controversy when a viral video on social media damages her reputation. The threat of dismissal from school and the economic impact of his family being affected by the Covid-19 pandemic is a heavy burden. His family was also affected, especially his children, Tita and Muklas, who tried to help without involving their father who was suffering from depression. This film summarizes the complexity of modern problems, such as the negative impact of social media, mental health problems, and family dynamics in overcoming crises involving various aspects of life.

After watching, the event continued with a welcome session and a message from the Chancellor of the Universitas Pendidikan Nasional, Dr. Ir. Nyoman Sri Subawa S.T., S.Sos., M.M., IPM., ASEAN Eng who also attended the activity. Through this No-Bar activity, Undiknas not only provides formal education in the classroom but also provides education through various outdoor activities.

It is hoped that the moral messages and inspiration taken from this film can become valuable provisions for the entire Undiknas academic community in living their daily lives. Undiknas as a higher education institution of course continues to be committed to being an agent of change that shapes superior character for the younger generation.
