Synergy With Indonesian Institute Australia: Hundreds Of Basic Needs Packages To Help Tourism Workers In Bali
July 24th, 2020 – Undiknas re-implemented Undiknas Care Movement (UCM) Program. UCM focused on helping Bali tourism workers, who were affected by Pandemic Covid-19. This UCM activity was targeting Kuta-Bali area as one of the tourism zones affected by Covid-19.
The Covid-19 pandemic was not over, and people have had to adapt to the adoption of the New Normal Order Policy or better known as the “New Normal Life”. With the enactment of this policy, the community slowly began to reorganize its economic life.
Undiknas synergized with the Australian Institute of Australia to collect funding from Australians who care about the survival of Bali’s tourism amid the Covid-19 Pandemic. Through UCM activities, Undiknas channeled assistance from the Australian Indonesian Institute of tourism actors who lost their livelihoods due to the Covid-19 pandemic. A total of 150 food packages were delivered directly by the Undiknas Rector accompanied by the Vice Rector for Partnership and Entrepreneurship as well as the Head of the Research and Community Service Institute to the Community and other Undiknas entourages to the Treasurer of the Kuta Traditional Village.
“We are very grateful for the assistance of food packages provided by the Australian Institute of Australia through Undiknas, we will soon distribute it to Kuta villagers who lost their jobs due to the Covid-19 pandemic such as freelance drivers, coast guards, freelancers, and other workshops,” said I Nyoman Mendra, Treasurer of the Kuta Traditional Village.
Dr. Nyoman Sri Subawa, M.M. as Rector of Undiknas said that Undiknas is an extension of the good hands of Australians. Hopefully the assistance we gave today can help ease the burden on Kuta residents amid the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
