Undiknas Holds National Defense Day Ceremony to Foster Nationalism

Denpasar, December 19, 2024 – In commemoration of National Defense Day, Universitas Pendidikan Nasional (Undiknas) held a joint ceremony attended by its entire academic community. The solemn event took place on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at the Undiknas Sport and Art Center.

Led by the Rector of Universitas Pendidikan Nasional, Prof. Dr. Ir. Nyoman Sri Subawa, S.T., S.Sos., M.M., IPM., ASEAN Eng, the ceremony aimed to instill a sense of nationalism and patriotism among Undiknas students, faculty, and staff.

In his speech, the Rector emphasized the importance of National Defense Day as a moment to reflect on the role of every individual in maintaining the unity and progress of the nation.

“As the next generation, we bear a great responsibility to uphold unity and build a more advanced Indonesia. Through the spirit of national defense, let us make real contributions in education, innovation, and collaboration for a brighter future,” said Prof. Nyoman Sri Subawa.

The ceremony proceeded orderly, starting with the raising of the red and white flag accompanied by the Indonesian national anthem, Indonesia Raya. All participants enthusiastically joined in the series of events, including the recitation of the Pancasila and the National Defense mandate.

Beyond paying tribute to the heroes who sacrificed for independence, the event also served as a moment to strengthen patriotism amidst global dynamics.

The Rector of Undiknas further emphasized that the spirit of national defense is not only demonstrated through physical battles but also through positive contributions in various fields.

“National defense in the modern era can be achieved by improving oneself, innovating across sectors, and upholding the values of unity,” he asserted.

Through this ceremony, Undiknas reaffirmed its commitment to instilling national values among the younger generation, equipping them to face future challenges.
