Universitas Pendidikan Nasional Holds a Series of Competitions To Make Penjor and Gebogan
Denpasar – To welcome and prepare for Piodalan Day at Sekar Jagat Temple, Universitas Pendidikan Nasional (Undiknas) which falls on the Fifth Purnama, Undiknas through the Human Resources Unit for Career and Employee Development work held a Penjor and Banten Gebogan making competition to enliven and complete facilities and infrastructure ahead of Piodalan Day which falls on November 8, 2022. The series of activities started at 9:00 WITA, 7 November 2022 which took place in the Jaba Pura Sekar Jagat Area, Universitas Pendidikan Nasional, Denpasar. The participants in participating in the competition activities must follow several rules of the competition committee including participants are not allowed to bring ready-made equipment, all the necessities in making gebogan and penjor must be made at the competition location, only sampian penjor are allowed to be brought directly by participants considering the complexity of making it.
The competition activity was participated by all work units within the Universitas Pendidikan Nasional, several UKM (Student Activity Units) also took part in the existing competition activities. The busyness of the participants can be seen even before the competition starts, starting from choosing materials to determining the location of manufacture around the campus area for penjor and the front area of the temple for making gebogan. The enthusiasm of the participants was very visible in the atmosphere when the competition officially started, all participants focused on completing their respective creations. The committee gave a time limit of up to 12 WITA to complete their penjor and gebogan creations.
The jury’s assessment is determined based on the unique shape and neatness of the penjor making and also the gebogan of each participant. The series of events closed with the announcement of the winners of the competition and also the presentation of appreciation prizes to each winner by the Vice-Rector for Human Resource and Finance, Dr. AAA. Ngurah Sri Rahayu Gorda, S.H., M.M., M.H. Through the holding of competition activities to welcome the fifth full moon piodalan at Pura Sekar Jagat, the Universitas Pendidikan Nasional is expected to strengthen the ties of brotherhood and kinship throughout the academic community at the Universitas Pendidikan Nasional.
