Talk On Indian Culture with Universitas Pendidikan Nasional And Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre
Denpasar – To spread goodness on the holy day of Diwali, the Universitas Pendidikan Nasional (Undiknas) through the Undiknas Study Center Work Unit in collaboration with the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Center (SVCC) Bali held a series of Talkshows entitled “Talk On Indian Culture In Connection With Diwali”. Together with resource person Shri Naveen Meghwal, who is the Director of Swami Vivekananda Cultural Center Bali, the talk show was held to discuss the meaning of Diwali celebrations in Indian culture and how it relates to Hindu culture in Bali. Diwali itself is a celebration that is regularly held in Indian culture in expressing gratitude to God, for the victory of good over evil. Diwali by the Hindu community in India is celebrated by lighting traditional lights called Diya throughout the area or holy place for the Hindu community in India. Diwali itself lasts for 5 days and takes place between October and November each year which is determined according to the Hindu calendar. In Bali, with its cultural philosophy, the majority of the people who are also Hindus, choose their own culture to celebrate the day of victory over good against evil, which is of course similar in meaning to Diwali.
The series of activities took place in the Theater Room, Universitas Pendidikan Nasional which was attended by a range of students from the Universitas Pendidikan Nasional environment, beginning with an opening remark delivered by Dr. Ni Putu Nina Eka Lestari, S.E., M.M as Head of Economics and Tourism Studies Center, Universitas Pendidikan Nasional which then continued to a topic presentation session by speaker Shri Naveen Meghwal who was guided by moderator Anak Agung Mia Intentilia, M.A who is also Head of ASEAN and International Studies Centre, Universitas Pendidikan Nasional. The agenda of the event continued with a question and answer session with resource person Shri Naveen Meghwal. After the entire series of events was completed, the agenda was closed with a group photo session and the handover of certificates and mementos to resource persons who had the opportunity to attend.
