Denpasar – Located in the Regent’s Room of Klungkung, Mr. Undiknas Rector, Prof. Dr. Ir. Nyoman Sri Subawa, S.T., S. Sos., M.M., IPM. accompanied by the Vice-Rector III for Student Affairs and Alumni, Mr. Dr. I Made Wirya Darma, S.H., M.H. officially announced the plan to open a Distance Learning Center (PBJJ) in Klungkung (13/4/2022). After successfully obtaining a permit for the Management of Management Science Doctoral Study Program, now Undiknas is again struggling to propose a permit for the Management of Distance Education Study Program (PJJ) in the Undergraduate Program.
The National Education University (Undiknas) as a university that is fully committed to contributing to improving the quality of education in the 3T (Front, Remote, and Disadvantaged) areas, is now targeting the Klungkung Regent’s work area, namely Semarapura, Nusa Penida, and its surroundings. Klungkung Regency, which in terms of mileage, is not far from Denpasar City, does not still lag behind in the education aspect of its people.
On the sidelines of the discussion session, the Regent of Klungkung, I Nyoman Suwirta, said that the community, especially in the Nusa Penida, Nusa Ceningan, and Nusa Lembongan areas really needed the PJJ program to receive an education. This is a form of response to the digital literacy of remote communities and also facilitates community education in the regions during their busy lives.
Undiknas Rector, Prof. Shribawa conveyed his subordinates that Undiknas would soon implement the PJJ program and open PBJJ in the Semarapura Kaja and Semarapura Kangin areas, Klungkung. The Undiknas Rector also added that in the future along with the increasing interest and desire of the people in the Klungkung area, Undiknas would also open the PJJ Program for other study programs.
Like a tit for tat, hearing this statement, the Regent of Klungkung welcomed what had been announced by Undiknas.
“I will certainly support what has been announced and really hope that in the future Undiknas can open the PJJ program as well as the Tourism Studies Program. The tourism potential in Klungkung is our focus.” said the Regent of Klungkung, I Nyoman Suwirta.
In his meeting with the Undiknas Rector, Mr. I Nyoman Suwirta, also gave his views on the importance of improving the quality of society through improving the quality of education coupled with soft skills to support development towards a more modern one.
Of course, it is hoped that with this PJJ program, Undiknas can assist the government in improving the quality of community resources in the Klungkung area. At the end of the discussion session, the Regent was also reminded to maintain the quality of education from the programs being run. Thus, the graduates produced really have the quality as a college graduate.
