Together with the Universitas Pendidikan Nasional, Build Creativity to Create a Green Environment
Denpasar – ABDI PM UNDIKNAS through the Communication Studies Student Association (Himaprodi Ilkom) Universitas Pendidikan Nasional (Undiknas) to build a clean and healthy culture in society. Taking the initiative and collaborating to carry out social activities entitled “Back to Roots #6”. With the theme “Creativity Creates A Clean Environment” the students cooperated with the local community to participate in carrying out Beach Cleaning activities. The rampant amount of trash that is currently littering the beaches in various areas has resulted in the need for regular cleaning activities. Through the implementation of Beach Cleaning, in addition to helping clean up the environment from trash and waste. It is also hoped that it can influence the community to care more about the cleanliness of the beach and the environment around them. So, with small steps taken by students of the National Education University, it is hoped that it will become a big wave of change in mindset in the society. (18/11/2022)
The activity was planned to take place at Masceti Beach, Medahan Village, Gianyar. As one of the beaches on the island of Bali, Masceti Beach is a beach that many residents visit as a means of recreation and also for various religious activities in Bali. Taking place on Friday, 18 November 2022, a series of activities involved the community from villages around Masceti Beach, Gianyar, and also children from SDN 1 Gianyar. The series of activities began with the opening of the event which was held at the Subak Masceti Museum, Gianyar. The event was officially opened by Dr. Drs. I Nyoman Subanda, M.Sc. as the Dean of FISHum, followed by the departure of all the participants who attended the Back to Roots #6 events to the beach to clean up the Masceti Beach area together.
It didn’t stop there, the agenda was also filled with various outreach activities by resource persons who were experts in their fields. Among them, Socialization about Hoaxes and wise social media, sharing sessions related to smart villages, and what is no less interesting. There are workshops that discuss how to process waste into handicrafts that have economic value. So, by inviting the local community to get involved in implementing Back to Roots #6 activities. It is expected to motivate and foster a sense of concern for the environment. Of course, this hard work cannot be achieved alone, it needs awareness from all levels of society in making this happen. Hopefully, the goal of implementing Back to Roots #6 that can have a positive influence on the environment and surrounding communities.
