Moot Court Simulation; Law Enforcement for Cyberporn in Indonesia
Denpasar – The Universitas Pendidikan Nasional (Undiknas) through the Law Study Program Student Association held a series of Moot Court Simulation (MCS) #5 activities. Moot Court Simulation or Moot Court itself is a series of activities in simulating judicial activities to add insight to students about how the process of running a judiciary in a case takes place. The series of activities took place in the Classroom of Building A, Universitas Pendidikan Nasional, which was attended by students from the Faculty of Law, Universitas Pendidikan Nasional. Also attending the Moot Court Simulation event, the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Dr. Ni Nym Juwita Arsawati, SH., M. Hum. as well as the lecturers of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Pendidikan Nasional. The activity began with an opening agenda with prayers and singing of the Indonesian national anthem, followed by opening remarks from the Chair of the Committee, representatives of HimaProdi Legal Studies, and the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Mrs. Juwita Arsawati.
The agenda continued with the screening of a trial simulation that had been prepared previously, which raised the topic “Law Enforcement for Cyberporn in Indonesia: Fiat Justitia Ruat Caelum” which is about how to enforce the law against cyberporn crimes that occur in Indonesia. Note, cyberporn itself is a term that is currently used for criminal acts related to the distribution, publication, and transaction of pornography activities through digital media, which is currently happening a lot in Indonesia.
The participants who attended watched the existing judicial simulation shows, and summarized the judicial series in their respective writings to assess the extent of the participants’ understanding and thoroughness in listening to the course of the judicial process. After the broadcast ended, the committee assessed all the summaries that the participants had written about the judicial activities that were broadcast. The series of activities closed with the awarding of prizes to the participants with the best writing followed by a group photo session.
Through the implementation of a series of Moot Court Simulation activities that have been held, it is hoped that it can add insight to students about how a series of judicial activities take place, hopefully, what the participants get in the implementation of Moot Court Simulation activities can be a provision for them to enter a career in the world of law and justice later.
