The Enthusiasm of the 53rd BUDINATA: Undiknas Held Contest of Wits between High/Vocational Schools in Bali
Denpasar – Enthusiastic about the 53rd Dies Natalis Month (BUDINATA), Universitas Pendidikan Nasional (UNDIKNAS) held Contest of Wits (Lomba Cerdas Cermat (LCC)) with the theme “Critical Thinking to Build Competitive Humans”.
Students from various schools in Bali take part in the 2022 High/Vocational School Contest of Wits. The enthusiasm of these High/Vocational students can be seen in how they answered every test of intelligence, aptitude, innovation, and creativity in thinking. The question materials were related to national insight, issues/news regarding recent events in Indonesia, the world, and news about politics and law, as well as online learning.
The contest of wits provides positive activity and opportunity for students to achieve self-actualization, compete healthily, and measure their potential. Undiknas hopes that this Contest of Wits, as part of the 53rd BUDINATA series of events, can be the source of encouragement for even more students in the Province of Bali to continue learning and struggling with the pandemic to achieve their dreams.
The preliminary round was held offline on the 28th of January 2022 by implementing very strict health protocols. In the preliminary round, a total of 24 participants competed by answering questions as quickly and accurately as possible. The competition was intense and so those who passed in the final round were SMK Negeri 1 Denpasar, SMK Negeri 2 Denpasar and SMK Bali Dewata.
The final round was again held offline on the 4th of February 2022 at the Undiknas Dwi Tunggal Auditorium. Three representatives from the Vocational School competed for first place. It is 17.00 WITA, the time for the announcement of the winners has come. The first place was won by SMK Negeri 1 Denpasar with a score of 2000, the second place was won by SMK Bali Dewata with a score of 1800, and last but not least, SMK Negeri 2 Denpasar managed to rank third with a score of 1600.
According to Arya Putra, a student of SMK Negeri 1 Denpasar, the success of his school team can be achieved due to the patience of the teachers who continue to accompany the team and encourage tirelessly. Finally, they became the 1st winner of the 53rd Undiknas BUDINATA contest of wits.
“My friends and I are very grateful for the support of our teachers, our companions, our parents and all of our friends. We also thank Universitas Pendidikan Nasional (Undiknas), which has provided an opportunity for us to show our ability in this remarkable event, and also thank you to the committee who are very prompt and friendly,” said Arya Putra, in his testimonial message.
The coordinator of the 53rd BUDINATA contest of wits, Ir. Adie Wahyudi Oktavia Gama, S.T., M.T., IPM., said that the purpose and objective of implementing this competition were not only to measure the ability of students, but also to encourage schools to improve their students’ abilities in their scientific horizons and to support the activities of the 53rd Undiknas Dies Natalis Month.
Undiknas provided cash, certificates, and trophies as prizes for the winners. The winner will also get a Golden Ticket which can be used to get a free entry test for new students at UNDIKNAS.
