Undiknas is Ready Towards The 2023 Declaration of the Year of Internationalization
Denpasar – 6th of January 2022, Universitas Pendidikan Nasional (Undiknas) held a Weekly Meeting at the Dwi Tunggal Auditorium, which was attended by the Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ir. Nyoman Sri Subawa,S.T.,S.Sos.,M.M and his staff.
The meeting discussed the work program of the Universitas Pendidikan Nasional in the future to improve the quality of being a higher-ranking university amid other universities. Nowadays, advances in information and communication technology are increasingly supporting the interest in internationalization, especially in higher education. Universities that are not adaptive or unable to respond to technological developments sooner or later will lose by themselves.
During this weekly meeting, the chancellor, Prof. Dr. Ir. Nyoman Sri Subawa,S.T.,S.Sos., M.M. said that heading towards the 2023 declaration of the year of internalization. Internalization in the educational field is not something new in the globalization era, it has even become a phase faced by universities both nationally and internationally in improving the quality of its institutions and graduates. In this digital era, competition for universities is very tight. This intense competition requires universities to be able to maintain and even develop their existence. There are many preparations that domestic universities must make to be able to compete with foreign universities, especially in terms of resources and supporting facilities. Mr. Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ir. Nyoman Sri Subawa, ST, S. Sos., M.M. also said, in building internationalization cooperation, several things need to be considered, such as: “Activities, Exchanges, Joint Research, Short Course Programs, Branchmarking, International Projects, Development of Projects in Third Countries , etc.” These elements are very important for the National Education University in improving academic quality and encouraging international reputation.
Then the Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Ir. Nyoman Sri Subawa,ST,S.Sos., M.M. expressed his hope that towards the 2023 declaration of the year of internationalization, Universitas Pendidikan Nasional would be able to prepare and focus on the following matters, such as: Increasing the Competence of Professional Lecturers through Certification in the Field of Science/Expertise, Increasing achievement target of the National Top 100 Student Ranking Management Information System (SIMKATMAWA), Publication of Student Scientific Work in Reputable International & National Accredited Journals, Increasing the SINTA Index in research & PKM (The Student Creativity Program) can be in the top 150 positions, Registration and affiliated researchers of Universitas Pendidikan Nasional on the Web of Science and there are many more work programs to be implemented.
He also hopes that Undiknas will be able to innovate and keep up with technological developments if they don’t want to be disrupted by other universities. The internationalization year means that Universitas Pendidikan Nasional must prepare international-class human resources, facilities, and networks. For this reason, the cooperation of the entire Undiknas academic community is needed; let’s raise the spirit together, don’t complain, and stay focused on the goal, so that digitalization activities can be in line with the progress of the year of internationalization.
