UDAWA Gadadar: Undiknas’ Innovation in Advancing Sustainable Agriculture
Denpasar, August 27 2024, Universitas Pendidikan Nasional (Undiknas) welcomed a visit from the Education and Socio-Cultural Attaché of the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) in Timor Leste, represented by Prof. Dr. Ikhfan Haris, M.Phil. The visit aimed to discuss the implementation of the MBKM (Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka) International Program, particularly regarding internship and community service opportunities for foreign students from Timor Leste at Undiknas.
During the meeting, plans were discussed for the execution of internships and community service programs for Timorese students in their home country. The program focuses on community development through the promotion of educational equity in various fields of expertise relevant to the students’ study programs. Additionally, the Indonesian Embassy in Timor Leste committed to facilitating Undiknas in placing its students in various institutions in Timor Leste, with the goal of fostering strong bilateral relations and contributing to international community development.
The targets of this program include multinational companies in Timor Leste, Indonesian Language Instruction for Foreign Speakers (BIPA), as well as collaborative research between lecturers, which is expected to provide recommendations to the Timor Leste government for community development.
The meeting was attended by Ida Nyoman Basmantra, Head of the International Office at Undiknas, Head of Tourism Destination Program Ni Nyoman Sri Wisudawati, and Tourism Destination Lecturer Ni Kadek Windayanti. A key outcome of the meeting is the recommendation to draft a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for cooperation between Undiknas and the Indonesian Embassy in Timor Leste, along with 19 universities in Timor Leste.
Undiknas is committed to supporting the global community in building comprehensive and quality education. This collaboration with the Indonesian Embassy in Timor Leste is expected to further strengthen bilateral relations between Indonesia and Timor Leste and contribute significantly to the development of education in both countries.
Perth-Joondalup August 26th 2024 – Universitas Pendidikan Nasional (Undiknas) visited Edith Cowan University (ECU) at 270 Joondalup WA 6027, Australia to align curricula and discuss international programs for the 2025/2026 academic year. The meeting was hosted at ECU’s Perth & Joondalup Campus in Western Australia, where Simon David Burrows, Manager of Internationalisation at ECU, Assc. Prof. Dr. Madeleine Ogilvie Director International and Dr. Claire Lambert, Associate Dean of Teaching and Learning at the School of Business and Law, welcomed the Undiknas delegation.
The delegation from Undiknas was led by Ida Nyoman Basmantra, Head of the International Office, and accompanied by Ms. Prasiwi Bestari, Coordinator of the International Faculty, and Ms. Budi Shantika from the International Accreditation Office. The discussions focused on the comprehensive implementation of the Double Degree Program, which has already been successfully launched between Undiknas and ECU. With several students enrolled for the current academic year, the meeting aimed to ensure that all aspects of the program are executed effectively and successfully.
In addition to the Double Degree and Joint Degree Program, the meeting also addressed curriculum benchmarking and its implementation. Discussions were held regarding the international programs planned for the 2025/2026 academic year, aiming to introduce the latest innovations. This partnership, which has been in place for eight years, has successfully implemented various initiatives such as enrichment programs, international credit transfers, research collaborations, and the New Colombo Plan.
This meeting marks another significant step in the ongoing collaboration between Undiknas and ECU, reinforcing their commitment to delivering high-quality education and fostering international cooperation.
