Beyond the Lens: How UKM Fotografi iSee UNDIKNAS Empowers the Next Creative Generation
A Mission to Spark Youth Creativity in Baturiti
The Student Activity Unit (UKM) Fotografi iSee at Universitas Pendidikan Nasional (UNDIKNAS) has successfully organized its annual social outreach program, iShare #5, under the inspiring theme “Baturiti in the Frame of Creativity”. Held over two days from March 8th to 9th, 2026, the event took place at the scenic Cemara Camp in Candikuning and SMA Negeri 1 Baturiti in Tabanan Regency. This initiative was specifically designed to enhance community knowledge and foster creativity among the youth in the fields of photography, video production, and visual design. By providing a dedicated learning space, UKM iSee aims to help participants understand how visual media can serve as a powerful tool for expressing ideas, delivering messages, and showcasing local potential. This basic digital education is intended to empower students to utilize technology positively in an ever-evolving digital era.

Building Theoretical Foundations and Team Solidarity
The first day at Cemara Camp began with a Visual Creativity Seminar that explored the fundamentals of the creative world, including photography, videography, and graphic design. During this session, the speaker, Kesya, emphasized that visuals play a crucial role in storytelling, as images tend to be more easily understood and can evoke stronger emotions and atmospheres than text alone. Following the theoretical session, the atmosphere became more lighthearted with various group games designed to improve cooperation, communication, and cohesion among the committee members . the day concluded with a sharing session under the night sky, aimed at strengthening relationships and building a sense of togetherness within the community.

Hands-on Learning and Visual Education at SMA Negeri 1 Baturiti
On the second day, the focus shifted to direct social action at SMA Negeri 1 Baturiti, where students were introduced to the world of multimedia. Participants were taught not only how to create compelling visual content but also how to use social media wisely as a platform for positive creativity. A major highlight of the event was the practical session, where students were given the opportunity to handle digital cameras and try out basic photography techniques firsthand to ensure an interactive learning experience. This program also opened the students’ eyes to future career opportunities in the creative industry, such as becoming professional photographers, videographers, or content creators, all of which are in high demand in today’s digital landscape.

A Tangible Contribution to Quality Education (SDGs)
Beyond technical training, iShare #5 represents a meaningful social contribution aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically SDG 4 regarding Quality Education through youth skill development. Through the education and hands-on experience provided, UKM Fotografi iSee UNDIKNAS hopes that the younger generation will gain the confidence to innovate using digital technology as a medium for creation. As a community dedicated to developing talents in the visual arts, UKM iSee remains committed to empowering the public through the strategic combination of technology and visual storytelling.
