Undiknas BIPA Class Enhances Indonesian Language Proficiency for Foreign Learners
Denpasar – Universitas Pendidikan Nasional (Undiknas) held the Indonesian Language Learning Program for Foreign Speakers (BIPA) as part of the university’s commitment to promoting internationalization and introducing the Indonesian language and culture to international students. The session was facilitated by Ida Ayu Fortuna Ningrum, S.Pd., M.Pd., a BIPA instructor at Undiknas. (11/11)
The BIPA program provides Indonesian language learning specifically designed for non-native speakers using a communicative, interactive, and adaptive approach tailored to the participants’ needs. Through this program, international students are guided to understand Indonesian language structure, improve their speaking, reading, and writing skills, as well as learn the cultural contexts embedded within everyday language use.
This activity not only focuses on linguistic abilities but also on developing an understanding of Indonesian culture. Participants had the opportunity to learn through dialogue, simulations, language games, and exposure to local cultural elements, making the learning process more engaging and applicable. With this approach, the BIPA program aims to build effective communication skills for foreign students so they can adapt well both academically and in daily life during their stay in Indonesia.
The implementation of the BIPA program at Undiknas serves as an important medium to support campus diversity while strengthening an inclusive and international academic environment. Through this initiative, Undiknas hopes more international students will gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of the Indonesian language and culture.
