SMOOTH Undiknas 2025 Officially Opens: A First Step for New Students Toward Becoming Independent and Strong in Character

Denpasar, September 1, 2025 – Universitas Pendidikan Nasional (Undiknas) officially opened SMOOTH 2025 (Shankara Muda Orientation Of the Humanity), an orientation program designed to facilitate the adaptation process, introduce students to the campus environment, and instill both academic and national values.

SMOOTH serves as the first step for new students to prepare themselves to become mature, independent individuals with a strong sense of national identity and civic responsibility. Through this program, students are not only introduced to the academic system at Undiknas but also guided to understand their rights and obligations throughout their university journey.

The SMOOTH 2025 program takes place over four days, from September 1 to 4, 2025, with a series of interactive, educational, and inspiring activities held across the Universitas Pendidikan Nasional campus. These activities are carefully designed to equip new students for both academic success and personal development.

The event was officially opened by the Rector of Undiknas, Prof. Dr. Ir. Nyoman Sri Subawa, S.T., S.Sos., M.M., IPM., ASEAN Eng. In his address, he emphasized the importance of orientation as a foundational step in shaping students with excellence, integrity, and readiness to face global challenges.

The opening agenda also featured the symbolic pinning of university attributes onto new students by the Rector, accompanied by the organizing committee and academic leaders. This ceremony represented the official acceptance and affirmation of the students as part of the Undiknas academic family.

SMOOTH 2025 is expected to nurture a new generation of Undiknas students who are not only intellectually capable but also socially conscious, nationally minded, and committed to contributing to society and the nation. In line with the global agenda of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), SMOOTH 2025 supports the pillar of Quality Education by providing inclusive and high-quality education through early academic preparation.
