KMKP Social Service #2: Social Media Awareness and Anti-Bullying Campaign at SD Negeri 2 Padang Sambian
Denpasar – The Christian Protestant Student Family (KMKP) of Universitas Pendidikan Nasional (Undiknas) successfully held KMKP Social Service #2 at SD Negeri 2 Padang Sambian. This one-day event served as a concrete contribution from students in supporting education and social campaigns within elementary school environments.
The event began with a formal opening session, starting with a report from the committee chair, Khaterina, followed by remarks from external representatives, including the Principal of SD Negeri 2 Padang Sambian, Ibu Ni Made Murtini, as well as internal representatives, such as the KMKP Advisory Board, the Chairperson of the Student Representative Council, and representatives from the Student Executive Board of Undiknas, who officially inaugurated the event.
Following the opening session, the committee proceeded to the classrooms to educate 4th, 5th, and 6th-grade students. Each class was facilitated by approximately 10-11 committee members who delivered material on “Using Social Media Wisely to Prevent Bullying.” This session aimed to raise students’ awareness about the negative impacts of bullying, particularly in the digital age, and to teach them how to engage positively on social media.
The learning activities were followed by mini-games and quizzes designed to reinforce students’ understanding while maintaining a fun and engaging atmosphere. The students’ enthusiasm was evident as they eagerly participated in every session. One of the teachers even expressed appreciation, saying, “Thank you, dear students, always stay humble and continue to support those of us in need.”
After the classroom sessions, the event continued in the schoolyard with a creative campaign titled “Stop Bullying.” A large white banner was spread out, allowing students to leave colorful handprints as a symbol of their support for the anti-bullying movement.
Guided by the committee, students took turns dipping their hands in acrylic paint and placing their handprints on the banner. This activity was not only fun but also meaningful, delivering a powerful message about the importance of mutual respect and ending bullying. The vibrant banner became a symbolic representation of the event’s spirit and positive message.
The event concluded with a group photo session in front of the banner, followed by cleaning up the area and a communal meal among the committee members. KMKP Social Service #2 was successfully conducted with great impact and lasting impressions.
This initiative directly supports several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including Quality Education and Partnerships for the Goals. The collaboration between students, teachers, and school officials highlighted the importance of cross-sector cooperation in creating positive social change.
With a spirit of collaboration and social awareness, KMKP Undiknas remains committed to making a real contribution to society through relevant and impactful social initiatives that benefit the younger generation.
