JEBAG MASA #3 Jegeg Bagus Undiknas: Building a Golden Generation Through Literacy
Denpasar, Bali – The Jegeg Bagus UNDIKNAS Student Activity Unit (UKM) successfully held its annual event, JEBAG MASA #3, under the theme “Developing Literacy for the Golden Generation.” This event, hosted at Dharma Jati II Orphanage in East Denpasar, Denpasar City, served as a tangible contribution by students in supporting education and social development in Bali.
As one of the flagship programs of UKM Jegeg Bagus UNDIKNAS, JEBAG MASA #3 engaged all organization members in actively providing literacy education to orphanage children. The event aimed to foster empathy among participants while also serving as a platform for strengthening compassion, teamwork, and a sense of family.
Encouraging Literacy Through Educational Activities
The event featured various educational activities designed to enhance children’s reading interest and literacy skills. One of the most engaging sessions was an interactive class that combined educational games with creative learning methods, such as storytelling, group discussions, and writing competitions. The children were not only encouraged to understand the importance of literacy but also motivated to keep learning and pursue their dreams.
In addition, UKM Jegeg Bagus members donated reading books, stationery, and other essential supplies to support the orphanage children’s learning process. With a strong spirit of collaboration, the event became a meaningful moment that brought students and the local community together in a warm, family-like atmosphere.
Beyond Education: Social Values and Community Empowerment
JEBAG MASA #3 not only focused on education but also emphasized social values such as empathy, teamwork, and community empowerment. In his speech, the event committee chairperson expressed hope that this initiative would create lasting positive impacts on the orphanage children and inspire students to continue contributing to society.
This event aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly:
- Goal 4: Quality Education – By enhancing literacy and empowering orphanage children, JEBAG MASA #3 helps ensure inclusive and equitable education for all.
- Goal 10: Reduced Inequalities – The collaboration between students and the local community reflects efforts to create equal opportunities and empower vulnerable groups.
By integrating literacy and sustainability values, UKM Jegeg Bagus UNDIKNAS continues to demonstrate its commitment to supporting the development of a golden generation—intelligent, caring, and ready to contribute to a brighter future.
