Its role is vital in supporting daily activities, operational processes, and technological developments. However, inefficient use of electricity remains a common issue, impacting operational costs and causing a waste of resources. This condition not only harms consumers through higher electricity bills but also places an additional burden on energy providers and the environment. Therefore, innovative solutions are needed that are capable of managing, controlling, and monitoring electricity usage in a smarter and more sustainable manner. One promising innovation is the Internet of Things (IoT)-based Smart Automatic Transfer Switch (Smart-ATS), which enables real-time monitoring, automatic power source switching, and more efficient and reliable energy management.<\/p>\r\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Concept of IoT-Based Smart-ATS<\/h2>\n\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;line-height: 1.7\">IoT-based Smart-ATS is an automated system designed to perform intelligent and integrated power source switching. By utilizing Internet of Things (IoT) technology, this system allows users to conduct real-time electricity monitoring and control energy usage remotely. Smart-ATS functions not only as a tool for switching power sources but also as an energy management system that enhances the efficiency and reliability of electricity distribution.<\/p>\r\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Importance of Efficiency and Electrical Energy Management<\/h2>\n\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;line-height: 1.7\">Electrical energy management is a strategic step in addressing frequent energy waste. This process involves recording, planning, supervising, and evaluating energy use on an ongoing basis. Additionally, the utilization of renewable energy, such as Solar Power Plants (PLTS), is growing as a clean energy solution, particularly in Bali. However, without a proper management system, the use of backup energy like the state power grid (PLN) and generators is often suboptimal, thereby reducing overall efficiency.<\/p>\r\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How Smart-ATS Works in Hybrid Systems<\/h2>\n\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;line-height: 1.7\">Smart-ATS works by automatically managing several electrical energy sources: PLTS as the primary source, PLN as the backup source, and generators as an alternative source. In automatic mode, the system detects the condition of energy sources in real-time. When a disturbance occurs in the PLTS or battery capacity decreases, the system automatically switches to PLN. If PLN is unavailable, the generator is activated as an alternative power source. Conversely, when PLTS conditions stabilize, the system reverts energy usage to the primary source. Besides automatic mode, Smart-ATS also provides a manual mode that allows users to control the transfer of energy sources via a mobile-based application.<\/p>\r\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Implementation and System Design<\/h2>\n\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;line-height: 1.7\">The implementation of Smart-ATS is carried out through systematic stages, starting from system design using PCB design software, followed by the assembly of electronic components such as microcontrollers, sensors, relays, and communication modules. Afterward, the system is integrated with software to support IoT-based monitoring and control functions. The final stage is system testing to ensure that the Smart-ATS can operate stably, responsively, and according to the established design.<\/p>\r\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Results and Advantages of Smart-ATS<\/h2>\n\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;line-height: 1.7\">Test results indicate that the IoT-based Smart-ATS performs well in executing automatic power source switching without significant interference. This system also enables the real-time monitoring of electrical parameters such as voltage, current, power, and energy. Consequently, Smart-ATS offers various advantages, such as increasing electrical energy efficiency, reducing operational costs, and maintaining the continuity of the power supply, especially in hybrid systems that combine renewable and conventional energy.<\/p>\r\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">IoT-Based Smart-ATS as an Innovative Solution<\/h2>\n\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;line-height: 1.7\">IoT-based Smart-ATS is an innovative solution for enhancing the efficiency and reliability of energy distribution systems. With its real-time monitoring and control capabilities, this system is able to optimize energy use while minimizing power supply disruptions.
