Gianyar \u2013 The Student Executive Board of the Faculty of Social and Humanities (BEM-FISHUM) at Universitas Pendidikan Nasional (UNDIKNAS) successfully organized the Summer Social Work #3 program under the theme “Share a Knowledge for One Hope and One Goal.” The event took place over three days, on July 2024, in Banjar Malet, Manukaya Village, Tampaksiring, Gianyar.<\/span><\/p>\n

As part of its community service initiatives, Summer Social Work #3 focused on enhancing education quality and social awareness in Banjar Malet. The program involved collaborations with PAUD Widya Kesari, SDN 2 Manukaya, and SMPN Satu Atap 1 Tampaksiring. Key areas of focus included public speaking training, teacher workshops on inclusive education for children with special needs (ABK), waste sorting education, and a campaign for a healthy and bullying-free learning environment.<\/span><\/p>\n

The first activity, was a socialization session titled “Creating a Bullying-Free Learning Environment for Child-Friendly Schools.” This session was also part of the School Orientation Program (MPLS) at SDN 2 Manukaya and SMPN Satu Atap 1 Tampaksiring.<\/span><\/p>\n

Two lecturers from the Faculty of Social and Humanities, UNDIKNAS, Ni Putu Intan Permatasari, S.Pd., M.Pd., and Dra. Ni Ketut Arniti, S.Sos., M.A.P., led the session, aiming to raise students\u2019 awareness of the importance of a safe and comfortable learning environment.<\/span><\/p>\n

Students from grades 3, 4, and 5 of SDN 2 Manukaya participated in a campaign by holding signs that read “Say No to Bullying,” while at SMPN Satu Atap 1 Tampaksiring, a discussion and Q&A session was conducted to give 7th-grade students a deeper understanding of the negative impacts of bullying.<\/span><\/p>\n

Next two workshops were held, focusing on waste sorting education and teaching strategies for children with special needs (ABK).<\/span><\/p>\n

In the first workshop on waste sorting, UNDIKNAS students conducted educational sessions in 10 classrooms at SDN 2 Manukaya and SMPN Satu Atap 1 Tampaksiring. Students were taught to identify different types of waste, practice proper sorting techniques, and engage in interactive ice-breaking and educational games.<\/span><\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the second workshop, titled “Effective Communication and Collaboration Strategies for Children with Special Needs,” featured Komang Eka Ayu Parwati, S.Pd., M.Pd., the Principal of SLBN 1 Gianyar, as the speaker. The session focused on teaching methods for children with intellectual disabilities (Tuna Grahita), equipping teachers with effective strategies for educating special needs students.<\/span><\/p>\n

To conclude the program, Summer Social Work #3 hosted a National Children’s Day celebration at SMPN Satu Atap 1 Tampaksiring. The event featured performances by students from PAUD Widya Kesari, SDN 2 Manukaya, and SMPN Satu Atap 1 Tampaksiring.<\/span><\/p>\n

Additionally, lecturers from the Faculty of Social and Humanities, UNDIKNAS, including Anak Agung Mia Intentilia, S.IP., M.A., Melati Budi Srikandi, S.I.Kom., M.I.Kom., and Putu Suparna, S.E., M.I.Kom., led a Sharing Session on “Mental Strategies to Boost Confidence and Overcome Public Speaking Anxiety.”<\/span><\/p>\n

The event also featured various competitions, such as coloring contests for PAUD children and educational games for elementary and middle school students, making the celebration more engaging and memorable.<\/span><\/p>\n

Summer Social Work #3 aligns with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):<\/span><\/p>\n
