Klungkung, \u2013 The Student Executive Board of the Faculty of Economics and Business (BEM-FEB) UNDIKNAS, in collaboration with the Student Representative Board of the Faculty of Economics and Business (BPM-FEB), successfully organized a social care program titled Economy Social Care (ESC). Under the theme “Empowering Village Communities Through Enhancing Village Potential with Innovation and Creativity,” this event served as a concrete manifestation of students\u2019 concern for society, while also implementing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education in the fields of teaching and community service.<\/span><\/p>\n The program took place over two days, from Saturday (November 9) to Sunday (November 10), in Besan Village, Dawan District, Klungkung Regency. A total of 90 students, 24 lecturers, and 68 local residents\u2014including elementary school students, PKK women\u2019s groups, and the general community\u2014actively participated in this initiative.<\/span><\/p>\n Day 1: Knowledge Sharing and Community Assistance<\/span><\/p>\n The first day began with an Opening Ceremony at Banjar Kawan Hall, Besan Village. The event was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business UNDIKNAS, Prof. Dr. Ida Bagus Raka Suardana, S.E., M.M., the Head of Besan Village, Ketut Yasa, and other invited guests. In his speech, Prof. Raka Suardana expressed his appreciation for the synergy between students and lecturers in empowering village communities through innovation.<\/span><\/p>\n Following the opening, the main activities commenced with a socialization session on “Household Waste-Based Organic Fertilizer Processing.” Led by I Ketut Darmawan, S.Pt., M.Si., participants were introduced to both the theory and practice of organic fertilizer production. This session involved residents from three hamlets in Besan Village: Kawan, Kangin, and Kelod, aiming to help the community utilize household waste for beneficial purposes.<\/span><\/p>\n Meanwhile, in another location, students from the Teaching Division conducted educational sessions for 4th and 5th-grade students at SD Negeri Besan. Using a fun class concept, they taught the children about the importance of sorting organic and inorganic waste. This session also included educational games and an origami-making activity where students wrote down their hopes and dreams, culminating in the distribution of gift packages.<\/span><\/p>\n In the afternoon, students, lecturers, and committee members visited the homes of underprivileged families across the three hamlets of Besan Village. They provided social assistance to six selected families, aiming to ease their economic burdens.<\/span><\/p>\n Day 2: Community Engagement and Environmental Awareness<\/span><\/p>\n The second day began with a morning walk, attended by all participants, lecturers, and Besan Village residents. Besides promoting physical well-being, the event also featured a clean-up initiative along the walking route as a gesture of environmental awareness.<\/span><\/p>\n The program concluded with a Closing Ceremony attended by the Head of Besan Village and the UNDIKNAS Faculty of Economics and Business representatives. In his closing remarks, Prof. Raka Suardana expressed his hope that programs like this would continue in the future, bringing real benefits to village communities. The event ended with the presentation of certificates and commemorative plaques to Besan Village as a token of appreciation.<\/span><\/p>\n Sustainable Impact and Commitment to SDGs<\/span><\/p>\n The Economy Social Care (ESC) program in Besan Village created a positive impact for all parties involved.
